Sparkly Stars for Christmas

Hi Friends,

I made these super easy, super quick, sparkly stars for my tree and presents. I used scraps of left-over yarn.
For the gold stars I used elle crochet no. 5 in goldy cream, with a 2.5 mm hook.
For the white I used elle 4 ply family knit, with a 3 mm hook.

PATTERN

Stitches used:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet

Ch 5 and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.

Round 1: ch 1, 11 sc in ch-ring, finish with 1 sl st in first ch. (12 sc)

Round 2: ch 2, * 1 dc in next sc, ch 6, 1 dc in next sc *, repeat 5 times, 1 dc in next sc, ch 6, finish with 1 sl st in 2nd ch from beg of round = 6 ch spaces.

Round 3: ch 1, * 1 sc between the next 2 dc, 4 sc in ch space, ch 3, 1 sc in 3rd ch from hook, 4 sc in ch space *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times, 1 sc between the next 2 dc, 4 sc in ch space, ch 20, 4 sc in ch space, finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round. Fasten off.

If you do not want to hang the star, or rather use a jump ring to hang, replace the 20 ch in round 3 with 3 ch.

Finishing:
Saturate your star in starch solution. Lay flat on wax paper and shape. Sprinkle with glitter for added sparkle. Let dry thoroughly.

Till next time, happy tinkering!
